Los Angeles - November 20, 2010 - Anxiety Disorder and Substance Use Disorder (SUD)

Only $195.00

It is far too often that people drink alcohol or use drugs to calm down. This type of self-medication though common is often unsafe because substance abuse adds more problems to the anxious person's life (loss of relationships, loss of finances, loss of self-respect). It is important for mental health/substance abuse providers to properly assess symptoms of anxiety relative to potential attempts to self-medicate anxiety symptoms with substance use. This way, providers can offer consumers safer coping skills for anxiety symptoms to use instead of self-medication with drugs and alcohol. This workshop has limited seating.
