Substance Abuse Counselor Certification Program

The Substance Abuse Counselor Certification Training Program is designed to assist individuals in acquiring the essential skills needed to counsel those who suffer from the effects of substance abuse.   

The program meets the education and training requirements established according to regulations from the State Certification Board NAADAC #517; Florida Certification Board # 5054A; and Georgia Addiction Counselors Association #09-120-11) and has been developed by Crossroads Training Center, Inc. in conjunction with Substance Abuse professionals.  

Participants completing this program will be prepared to apply for certification from your State approved board. Resources may be provided to assist students in locating counseling positions.

Scope of Training     

The program provides the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are needed for achieving and practicing the competencies listed in the TAP 21 (Addiction Counseling Competencies). The courses are intended to provide guidance for the professional treatment of substance use disorders which has become recognized as a complex multidisciplinary practice supported by a large and rapidly expanding body of theoretical and scientific literature. Both public and private research initiatives have repeatedly demonstrated the cost effectiveness of well designed strategies for intervening with people suffering from the adverse consequences of both substance abuse and dependence.
